Modular School Rebuild Initiative Launched in Jamaica

A new school reconstruction initiative is being advanced in Jamaica to address the urgent need for safe, resilient educational infrastructure following recent hurricane damage. The program is being delivered under the The Boucree Foundation, with design and engineering led by Rebel Concept and implementation supported by local manufacturing partners in Jamaica.

The project introduces a modular building system that enables rapid deployment of high-quality school facilities. The approach combines prefabricated volumetric modules and panelized elements, engineered to meet hurricane-resilience standards while ensuring long-term durability and low maintenance.

The initial phase of the project will deliver a fully operational school of approximately 300–350 m², including classrooms and essential administrative spaces. A second phase will expand the facility to 550–650 m², adding additional classrooms, dining areas, and community-support functions. The system is designed for scalability and future expansion, allowing schools to grow alongside community needs.

Construction is scheduled to begin in mid-year, with the first phase targeted for delivery within a compressed timeline to ensure children can return to safe learning environments as quickly as possible. The project also emphasizes local workforce engagement, with production and assembly carried out by Jamaican teams using globally integrated modular technology.

Beyond immediate reconstruction, the initiative aims to establish a repeatable model for resilient school and clinic development across the region. By combining speed, precision, and sustainability, the program sets a new benchmark for post-disaster rebuilding and long-term educational infrastructure in Jamaica.
